Koper is the largest town on Slovenia’s Adriatic coast with a population of around 25,000 and five centuries of Venetian rule are almost impossible to ignore here, especially while strolling along the narrow streets past imposing palaces and monumental architecture. Today, Koper has two faces: one is a modern, loud and busy industrial part of the city with the only commercial port in Slovenia and the other is the charming small Old Town with the lovely Tito square and late medieval and early Renaissance buildings, such as the Praetorian Palace, the Loggia Palace and the Cathedral of the Assumption built in Venetian styles.

  1. Through Futsal and football i became interested in Slovenia. Its beauty is incredible. The photos on here are so beautiful. As a Catholic would love to see some interior images of the churches . The outstanding beauty of this area makes it surely one of the hidden gems of Europe. If or when i can afford it, i wold love to visit some of the places shown here. THANK YOU!
