Apartments in Koper that we recommend
APARTMENTS MEDVED
Koper, Slovenia

Apartments Medved is a lovely self-catering accommodation in the perfect location for your stay in Koper. It's right in the Old Town and any direction you wish to explore is an easy walk and many restaurants, shops, and cafés are located nearby. The apartments are housed in a beautifully renovated 3-storey building. There are seven apartments available, from studio to 2 bedroom and from our observations they are all equally well furnished and decorated. If you have reduced mobility, make sure to ask for an apartment in the ground floor as there's no lift in the building. The apartments themselves are well equipped with everything you could need for a week or two away from home. They all have a balcony or a terrace which is a real nice touch. The beds are nice and comfortable. Linens are good quality and very crisp and clean. Pillows likewise are very good. There's a flat screen TV in all the apartments and the air-con works well and is most welcome. The bathrooms are small but modern and fine. The walk-in showers are nice but the water pressure is average with both hot and cold water. The kitchens are pretty small but fairly well equipped with everything you need to make a meal. The owners, Lorena and her parents, are very kind and helpful and they really go out of their way to ensure you have a nice stay. The free WiFi is excellent and reliably fast. The parking is a short walk away, but they are city parking places, so you have to pay €4 per day. In summary, a wonderful central place to stay in Koper's Old Town. The apartments have everything you need and all equipment and fittings are modern and appear new. Plus, the owners are delightful, very welcoming, helpful and unobtrusive.

APARTMENT KOPER
Koper, Slovenia

Apartment Koper is a family owned beautifully renovated apartment with everything you need right in the centre of the Koper Old Town and within minutes walking distance from anything you may want to see and do in Koper. The design of the apartment is remarkable, although the space is small, there is room everywhere. The apartment features 2 bedrooms, a living room, a bathroom and a kitchen. It has many convenient and adorable touches. From the bedding to the kitchen and bathroom features, everything is entirely satisfying and very modern. The cleanliness is superb and it's shiny and new. The air con works very well and is needed in the summer as the temperatures can reach 35°C. The bathroom is very modern and a nice size and the shower is large. The kitchen is small but efficient, with all the small appliances and small wares you need to prepare meals. The owner, Milos and his family, are the most welcoming and helpful people you could meet. Nothing is too much trouble and they go out of their way to make sure you have everything you need. The free WiFi is very fast and you can easily Skype or stream content without issues. If you are coming by car you have public parking a very short walk away that costs only €1 per day. All in all, if you are looking for a home away from home with all the amenities including lightning-fast WiFi, air conditioned room and a well-equipped kitchen right in the heart of Koper, we could not recommend this place more. It lacks nothing and everything is accessible by foot (bakery, supermarket, restaurants and cafes, harbour, etc.). On the scale from 1 to 10 this apartment deserves 11!

APARTMENTS DIMNIKARSKA
Koper, Slovenia

Apartments Dimnikarska is a lovely accommodation in the perfect location for your stay in Koper. It's centrally situated in a quaint and authentic alley within steps of the main shopping lanes and the main square. Any direction you wish to explore is an easy walk and many restaurants, café bars and shops are located nearby. There are two apartments available, both impeccably clean and look just like in the pictures. Both apartments are newly renovated, so the furniture and fittings all appear new, modern and of very good quality. The beds are comfortable, linen & towels spotless. The bathroom, although a little small, is adequate and modern and the shower has plenty of hot water. The kitchen is small but well equipped and you can keep things in the fridge and cook meals. The windows are double glazed, so very quiet inside when the windows closed. The air-con works great which you will need in summer. The owner, Alen, is most helpful, he will meet you when you arrive and give you the keys, lead you to the apartment, help with luggage, and even provide cool drinks in the fridge and ingredients for breakfast. The free Wi-Fi works brilliantly everywhere. If you have a car there's public parking a short walk away that costs €1 per day. All in all, a great place to stay in Koper, located in a little lane within steps of all facilities and public transport. Very modern, charming, quiet, ideal for couples or individuals.

MAESTRAL
Koper, Slovenia

Maestral is a nice place to stay in a very central location in downtown Koper, only a few steps from the beach in one direction and in the other direction a minute walk to the historic center of Koper. There are many restaurants, cafes, shops all within a five minutes walk. The apartment is on the 3rd floor and there is no lift in the building, so if you have mobility issues, this might be something of a problem. The apartment itself is beautifully decorated and is very clean and tidy, although the decor is possibly a little dated. There's a well equipped kitchen where you can warm up or cook food and a nice bathroom with plenty of hot water, but the water pressure in the shower is quite low and we would prefer a vertical shower cabinet as opposed to the hand held one in the bath. The beds are very comfortable and the linen and pillows are of good quality. There's also a flat screen TV with several international channels. The air con works fabulously which you will need in the hot summer days. Having a balcony is another big positive, especially with the great sea views. The free WiFi is excellent and fast, you can even use it for streaming HD video. Free public parking is also available. The owners, Istok and his wife Sasa, are very friendly and helpful in suggesting things to see and do in the area and nearby places to eat. All in all, a lovely and very central self-catering place to stay in Koper, comfortable, clean, and having a balcony and the view overlooking the bay is stunning.

STUDIO MORSAL
Koper, Slovenia

Studio Morsal is a lovely studio/apartment located on the ground floor of a traditional building centrally located at the edge of the Koper Old Town. The location is really excellent, on a quiet street just a few minutes stroll from the main Tito Square. There are several bars, restaurants, grocery stores and a bakery within walking distance. You can find a laundry on the same street and free public parking is also available. The apartment looks even better in real than on the pictures. The bed is very comfortable with high quality linens and excellent pillows (not too thick). The neighborhood is very quiet at night, so even light sleepers will enjoy the place. The bathroom is modern and there is a large walk-in shower. The kitchen is small but totally adequate to prepare simple meals. Morela is a lovely, responsive and friendly host with a great sense of humour. She is always ready to go the extra mile to make you feel at home. The free Wi-Fi is excellent and is strong enough for streaming HD video with very few glitches. All in all, a fantastic place to stay for couples. The apartment has just about everything you could possibly need, and is also stocked with more than just the essentials. Great location, well decked out, very comfortable and great value for money. Highly recommended!

APARTMENT RETRO III
Koper, Slovenia

Apartments Retro is a lovely old building situated right in the heart of the Koper Old Town. The location could not be better for enjoying everything that Koper has to offer. Many restaurants and cafes, a bakery, and a supermarket are within short walking distance. The beach is about a 4 minute walk away and the bus and train station are only a 5 minute walk away. It is easy to find and easy to come back to if you need to during the day. There are five apartments for 2 to 4 persons available in the building. They are old fashioned (maybe this is why it is called "Retro") and a bit tired at the edges, though clean and equipped with all you need for a nice stay, including a bathroom with shower, a small kitchen with everything you need to prepare small meals and a flat screen TV with international channels. A/C works well and is needed as it can get very hot during the summer months. The owners, Andrejka and her mother, are kind and very helpful and they go out of their way to ensure you have a lovely stay. The free WiFi is weak and works only in one side of the building - they need to invest in another modem/booster. There's no parking available but a free public parking lot is a short walk away. In summary, a nice place to stay in Koper with everything you need within walking distance.

Places to stay in Koper that we recommend
The accommodation options in Koper can be divided into six main categories: hotels, guesthouses, B&Bs, apartments, farm stays and hostels.
HOTELS IN KOPER THAT WE RECOMMEND

Koper is the largest town on the Slovenian coast and the sixth-largest city in Slovenia. There are currently 5 hotels in the city, but the overall quality of the hotels is not that great, and at the moment there's only one hotel in Koper that we can really recommend. Find out which one and why!
GUEST HOUSES IN KOPER THAT WE RECOMMEND

Guest houses are a traditional form of accommodation in Slovenia for holiday makers and other travellers. They are a great choice for a place to stay as they are comfortable and wallet-friendly with owners who take an interest in their guests. There are more than 10 guest houses available in the Koper area, find out which are the ones that we recommend the most.
BED AND BREAKFASTS IN KOPER THAT WE RECOMMEND

Opting for a bed and breakfast over other types of lodging is a great way to personalize your stay and get to know the locals. Bed and breakfasts feel like you are literally staying in someone’s house, because often you are. The advantage of a B&B is that the breakfasts are often home cooked meals that are prepared with love and attention. These meals are included in your room rate and are a great way to start your day. Find out which B&Bs in Koper we recommend the most, and why!
APARTMENTS IN KOPER THAT WE RECOMMEND

With all the comforts of home, apartments are a great choice for lodging during your trip to Koper. They are often more affordable and can be very comfortable places to stay. But be careful, the rates and quality vary seriously, so always do a good research before you book an apartment!
HOSTELS IN KOPER THAT WE RECOMMEND

Hostels in Koper are the go-to option for travellers and backpackers who plan to spend very little of their time in their room and most of their time exploring Koper and the Slovenian coast. They’re also a great way to meet other travellers. Unlike a hotel, hostels are more communal in nature and that includes sharing a room with strangers, although often you can get a private room if you want to pay a little more. Find out which hostels in Koper we recommend the most, and why!
FARM STAYS IN THE KOPER AREA THAT WE RECOMMEND

In recent years, farm stays are growing among a number of travelers looking to reconnect with fresh air, local and organic foods, and a more simple and authentic lifestyle on vacation. Farm stays are a form of accommodation on a working farm. Actual accommodations can vary from a room in a farm house, to a cabin or a guest cottage. Typical rates are similar to a bed and breakfast, and like a bed and breakfast, some offer delicious home cooked meals. Some farm stays also allow guests to participate in the daily activities on the farm if they choose.

All You Need To Know To Visit Koper
KOPER – the largest city on the Slovenian coast

Koper or Capodistria as it is called in Italian shows two faces to the world: one is a modern, loud and busy industrial part of the city with the only commercial port in Slovenia. The other is the charming small Old Town with the lovely square of Titov Trg and late medieval and early Renaissance buildings, such as the Praetorian Palace, the Loggia Palace and the Cathedral of the Assumption built in Venetian styles.
