Lake Plansar is a small but very picturesque lake in Zgornje Jezersko, a small Slovenian village located very close to the Austrian border. Not many tourists make the journey here in the winter. The lake is surrounded by lush spruce tree forests and the views of the Kamnik-Savinja Alps are stunning from all sides. There are several hiking paths around the lake and you can take a refreshments break at the Gostisce Ob Plansarskem Jezeru restaurant, which is known for its traditional Slovenian food and especially desserts such as the kremsnita (a.k.a. Bled Cream Cake).
