It is located in a beautiful quiet area away from the lakeside and busy road but close enough to walk to all the facilities that Bled and its lake had to offer. The grounds are immaculate and beautifully landscaped. The 11 bedroomed pension is full of interesting photos, flower arrangements and small historical items reflecting the previous use as a farm from 1846. They have started taking in tourists in the 1950's after the family stopped farming. The rooms are of a good size and very well appointed and well laid out with carved wood furniture, comfortable beds with the highest quality cotton bed linens, good air-conditioning and en-suite bathroom with a large and divinely perfect shower. There is also a refrigerator in the room and an electric tea kettle with lots of tea choices, coffee, a sparkling wine, some apples, apple juice and bottled water, all free of charge. The breakfast is a treat each day with a great range of choices, hot and cold, which cater for all tastes and set you up well for the day. There's an assortment of cured meats, cheese, cereals, yogurt, breads, grilled vegetables, smoked trout, eggs and sausage and much more. The breakfast could be eaten inside or out in the wonderfully well landscaped garden. The on-site restaurant is excellent and attracts non-residents and we highly recommend a dinner here too. The food and presentation is first class and a delight. The owner Miha and his staff are always available and were welcoming, friendly and attentive. The free WiFi works well in the rooms and it's fast. There is also free parking right outside and the use of free electric bikes is also an added bonus. The bottom line is that this is a wonderful place to stay with comfortable rooms, outstanding food, great staff and a lovely relaxing atmosphere. ALP PENSION Bled, Slovenia Alp Pension is not the usual anonymous guesthouse, but it's a typical mountain house, with nice, characteristic interiors and a big, lovely garden where it is possible to relax. It is situated in quite a rural location, away from the main hustle and bustle of Bled, although it's actually very close to the centre of town, only a 10 minute walk or so. Perfect for having a quiet place and still be close to the main attraction. The area is great for walking excursions including trails to and around the lake, as well as Vintgar Gorge. The rooms are large, clean, and bright and very well appointed with a comfortable bed, A/C and fridge. The bathrooms are very modern with amazing showers! The buffet style breakfast was superb. There is everything from homemade breads, jams, cereals, nuts, seeds, dried fruits, cakes, sweet goods, fruit, cheeses, meats and cooked eggs, bacon, etc. We think you get the idea! Along with the espresso machine is a very fancy orange juice machine where you can have freshly squeezed juice. The dinner is offered too and it’s a fantastic 4-course meal, containing locally sourced ingredients. The dinner needs to be booked post-breakfast as the chef will prepare the right amount of food. The meals are served in a lovely backyard, when the weather is good. The garden has chairs on the grass under trees if you like shade, and there is also an honesty bar. The staff are all very nice and accommodating and the owner is extremely helpful in giving suggestions on where to go, what to do, itineraries, paths, costs and what not about the lake and surroundings. There is a lovely spa attached that is a great way to spend an afternoon or evening. It closes at 21:00 and it is strongly suggested to book the day before for services. Bikes can be loaned (at no cost) and a quick spin around the lake is a must. There is ample on-site parking available for guests free of charge. The free WiFi in the rooms works well and is high speed, and there's a computer downstairs which is attached to free WiFi too. VILA MILA Bled, Slovenia Vila Mila is a charming and quite luxurious place to stay housed in a completely renovated 100-year old building. The location is great, central but in a quiet area just below the castle, only a very short walk to the lake, restaurants, cafes, grocery store and fruit/vegetable market. The castle is just 15 minutes walk uphill. The grounds are extremely well kept and the lawn, garden and outside sitting/dining/BBQ areas are beautiful and very inviting. There are 6 apartments available in the building, all air conditioned, decorated with old furniture and full of character and with daily housekeeping. Each apartment has a well equipped kitchen where you can cook your own meals and a very modern and well-designed bathroom with nice big shower, good pressure and plenty of hot water. The beds are very comfortable and the linen and pillows are lovely and changed frequently. The breakfast that is available on request is always of a high standard with top quality foods. We would certainly recommend it. The owners Tadeja and Robert could not have been more helpful, friendly, professional and welcoming. They greet you on your arrival, are visible throughout your stay without being obtrusive, and care about you as a guest. There is a nice sauna which is free for guests to use. There is even a laundry room where you can wash and dry all of your clothes for a few Euros. The WiFi and TV with many international channels are flawless and the parking is also a big plus if you need it. In conclusion, a superbly located meticulously maintained property close to the lake and other amenities and the apartments are modern, bright, well equipped and well furnished with high-quality materials. GUEST HOUSE MLINO Bled, Slovenia Guest House Mlino or Pension Mlino is a beautifully located guesthouse that sits near the lake with a great view across the lake to the castle. The Pletna boats parked right at your door can take you over to the charming island in the middle of the lake. The walk to downtown Bled is about 12-15 minutes, depending on how fast you walk. The downtown area has restaurants, shops, a small casino, the tourist centre, and lots of tour company offices where you can book your activities. The walk to town is easy and there is a path the hugs the lake. The property itself is modern yet homely and spotlessly clean. The rooms with lake view are wonderful, but they are slightly noisier than the non-lake view rooms as they face the road. The bed linens are of high quality and the closet space is ample. The bathrooms are fairly small but more than adequate. There is a restaurant attached to the guesthouse with a large outdoor eating area, which has some beautiful lake views. Food at the restaurant is really good and reasonably priced with traditional Slovenian dishes and vegetarian options. The breakfast is absolutely lovely with plenty of fresh fruit, cereals, yogurt, cakes, fresh breads, cold meats and cheeses in the Slovenian style, plus hot dishes (bacon/sausages etc.) and eggs made to your request. The staff are very welcoming and helpful and speak excellent English, The guesthouse has its own private parking lot with 15+ spaces reserved for guests. CARMAN GUEST HOUSE Bled, Slovenia Carman Guest House is a family run guesthouse located at the quiet end of the lake, The location is perfect as it is right opposite the lake (you couldn't be any closer to the lake without being in it). Bled town centre is about a 10-15 minute walk from the property, although you won't have any complaints with that as the whole walk is along the lake, offering amazing scenery. There are restaurants within walking distance and there is also a mini supermarket and a cute little souvenir shop nearby. The rooms are quite small but clean and bright and the beds are nice and comfortable. We strongly recommend to book a room with a lake view, it's undoubtedly worth it. The bathrooms are small but modern. The breakfast isn't served in the property instead at another B&B down the street. The staff are friendly and helpful. The WiFi is good but could be slow at times but once connected it's available throughout the property. They have a few parking spaces reserved for guests right next to the building. Overall, a nice guesthouse, but the main reason for staying here is Lake Bled and you can literally see the island from the window in your room. ROOMS STOJANOVIC Bled, Slovenia Rooms Stojanovic is a charming and well-maintained bed and breakfast type place. The accommodation is about a 10-15 minute walk from the lake and the centre of Bled and there are several restaurants, cafes and shops nearby to stock up on food and drinks. The views of the Slovenian Alps are great, and because it is in a residential area, it is really quiet. The house is clean, big and homely. The rooms and apartments vary in size but all are charming and comfortable. The rooms are very clean, and bright with lots of places to put your luggage and belongings. The bathroom is good sized and towels and toiletries are provided too. The apartments also have a well equipped kitchen with oven, microwave and dining table and some also have a balcony. The beds are comfortable and the bedding is wonderful. The optional breakfast is great value with scrambled eggs as well as meats, breads, cereals, jams, tea and coffee. The owner Janja is a lovely lady who rightly has a lot of pride in her property, she has good English as well as multiple other languages. She is lovely and welcoming and has an abundance of local knowledge to help you in choosing from the many, varied activities available in Bled and surrounding areas. There is free WiFi but the signal isn't great in most of the rooms. Parking is available right in front. The location is an easy drive to downtown Bled if you have a car. In summary, extremely clean, great value for money, good breakfast, comfortable beds, lots of space in the bedrooms, and the nicest of owners. GUESTHOUSE KOLINSKA Bled, Slovenia Guesthouse Kolinska is a medium-sized guest house with 15 rooms located on a quiet street within a 10-15 minute walk to the lake and restaurants. There is a supermarket just down the road from guesthouse which is very handy. The rooms are very comfortable, very clean and have a big flat screen TV and a minibar. The beds are very comfortable and all furnishings and fixtures are good quality. The rooms are air-conditioned, which is wonderful as temperatures in Bled regularly go above 30°C during July and August. Almost all rooms have a balcony and some a fantastic view over Bled castle. The bathrooms are modern and quite large with awesome showers. The breakfast is continental with a variety of hot and cold choices and very tasty. You can have eggs freshly prepared, cereals, fruit, meats, cheeses, jams, yogurt, fresh breads, pastries and more. Coffee and all sorts of teas and juices also. The owner is very welcoming and knowledgeable about the surrounding area and all the staff are really friendly, helpful and accommodating. There is plenty of free parking right outside the front door. The Wi-Fi is free and available throughout the property, however, the signal is a little weak on the end rooms. So, in conclusion, a very good place to stay in Bled. PENZION VILA PRESEREN Bled, Slovenia Penzion Vila Preseren is a trendy café, restaurant and guesthouse housed in a traditional 19th century villa. The location needless to say is fantastic right on the edge of the lake with wonderful views. The building looks like a small boutique house which fits perfectly with the natural surroundings unlike some of the other larger typical hotels. There is a small park behind the hotel, an amazing view of the lake in front and to the side you have the church and directly above is the castle, which you can walk up to in about half an hour. It's such a great location for a guesthouse and great views all round. Everything is generally in walking distance and you can take a stroll round the whole lake in about an hour. Along the way you will see rowing clubs, mountains, a few restaurants, boat/bike rentals and some beautiful looking houses. The rooms are all individually decorated, a little on the small side but comfortable and clean and have a fridge, TV, air conditioning, plenty of outlets, and a nice-sized closet. The beds are comfortable as are the linens and towels. The bathrooms are large and very modern and look like they have recently been refurbished which is always a good sign. The rooms on the lake-side are much more quiet, on the other sides you hear the bell of the nearby church quite loudly. And try to get a room higher up for the best room views of the lake. The restaurant downstairs serves great food and drink. A wide selection to choose from and a visible dessert gallery for you to drool over their freshly made selection - always a bonus when you can see the desserts! The traditional cream cake is everywhere so if you like your cream/egg pastries, then you're in for a treat! There is a lot of seating inside and outside of the restaurant with the outside generally being the busiest due to the incredible view of Lake Bled at its doorstep. Breakfast is included in the room price and the food is excellent quality, but the breakfast options are a bit limited, with 3 selections on the menu. The staff are really friendly and helpful and speak excellent English. There is free private parking on-site. The small parking area is gated so you have a place to park which could have been a challenge otherwise. There is also a free WiFi all over the property. In conclusion, if you are looking for a nice place to stay with great food then this is it. ROOMS JERMAN Bled, Slovenia Rooms Jerman is a charming family run bed and breakfast type of accommodation. The location is great, in a gorgeous quiet neighbourhood in the south west part of Lake Bled, only a 3 minute walk to a nice peaceful part of the lake where there is also a boat launch to the island. Also, at the end of the street there is a supermarket and a couple of restaurants. The busy town centre is about a 15 minute walk along the lake. The rooms are recently renovated and just lovely, very cosy and homely with everything you need including a fridge and TV with international channels. The beds are very comfortable and everything is immaculate. Some rooms even have a lovely balcony with nice lake views. The bathrooms are quite large and modern. The breakfast isn't included but is well worth the price, It is fantastic: fresh coffee, steamed milk, a meat plate for every table, cheese, cereal, yogurt, juice, and eggs made to order. The owners are very nice and eager to make you feel right at home. There is plenty of parking in a covered private garage area. Also, they have a strong WiFi connection. Overall a great place to stay and also great value for money. The cost of the room compared to the view, location, and service is probably the best in Bled. The rooms are on the small side, but efficient and fitted with everything you may need, just perfect for a good night sleep, The bathrooms are modern with a shower and good water pressure. VILA ALICE Bled, Slovenia Vila Alice is a charming little B&B/guest house/boutique hotel with 3 floors and 7 rooms, along with a lovely dining area for breakfast and an outdoor patio. The location is great, it's less than five minutes walk to the lake shore, and the restaurants and bars in the centre of Bled. It's obvious that the owners take a great deal of pride in the property and no detail is missed. The rooms are nicely decorated and fairly large and have a comfortable bed, TV and a safe. The bathrooms are nice and modern. There's no bar or restaurant on site, except in the morning, when there is a beautifully presented continental breakfast with a selection of cereals, fruits, bread, meats, cheese, egg and cake in the charming breakfast room with lots of sunlight and amazing mountain views. The staff are young, speak several languages very well, and are quite friendly and helpful and the place is very efficiently run and kept spotlessly clean. The free WiFi works well. GARNI PENSION PIBERNIK Bled, Slovenia Garni Pension Pibernik is a beautiful family run place to stay set just outside Bled. The setting of the property when you first drive up is picture perfect! Nestled in the woods amid landscaped gardens, there is a sense of peace and serenity to the whole place. The property is full of character and has lots of grounds with places to chill out. There are lot of flowers, trees, grass and even a vine covered entrance area. Location wise, it's a 20-30 minute walk through the woods from downtown Bled and the lake or about a 3 minute drive. The accommodation has lovely cottages with kitchens (apartments), ideal for families with children, as well as rooms in the main building. The rooms are a little basic but functional and the beds are comfortable enough. For breakfast, you let them know the day before that you want it and roughly what time, then just turn up. The breakfast is buffet style and it's tasty and very extensive, hot and cold foods are prepared and is all self service, you can even cook your own eggs/omelette on their traditional stove. The proprietor and his son run the place. They are quite helpful and friendly. The grounds are the perfect place to relax consisting of hammocks, picnic benches, table tennis, badminton, a trampoline and other activities. The free WiFi works wonderfully and there's plenty of car parking available. The interesting thing is that the pension is run on an honesty system where you help yourself to items around the place and then you sign your name for it to be added to your bill. We think this is nice and it makes it feel more like home. All in all, a very nice place to stay in the Bled area for those with a car. VILA MIA Bled, Slovenia Vila Mia is a small guesthouse-type accommodation with only three rooms/apartments in the house. Location is great, a short walk from the centre of Bled and the lakeshore. No lake view, as the house is tucked away, but you can see the castle from some of the rooms, and it is a lovely quiet location. The rooms/apartments are bright, airy, spacious, beautifully furnished, and spotlessly clean. The beds are comfortable and so are the linens. The bathrooms are modern, clean and bright looking. The apartments also have a small kitchen but it's a little bare. It's perfect for snacks, but not great if you're planning on a full meal. The breakfast is optional and you have to pay a little extra for it but it is buffet style, and has a decent amount of choices. The owners are very kind and welcoming and have excellent information about the area. They don't live on the property, so, if you need help, you must have a phone. There's free WiFi throughout the property. Free private parking is available just outside the house, but there are only two parking spaces available.
