About Lake Jasna
Situated just south of the charming village of Kranjska Gora, Lake Jasna is a small lake with white sand around its rim and the high mountain peaks of the Slovenian Alps as a stunning backdrop. The lake actually consists of two interconnected lakes at the confluence of the Velika Pisnica and Mala Pisnica streams.
Lake Jasna is guarded by a statue of Zlatorog, the golden-horned ibex, who loves to pose for the camera. During winter, the lake is mostly frozen over and it doesn’t warm up too much during summer either. This is why swimming in it will surely invigorate you. From the lake you can admire one of the most remarkable views of the Slovenian Alps.

Lake Jasna is one of the most popular and well-known tourist destinations around Kranjska gora. From the village, you can follow the road to Vrsic and reach Lake Jasna in less than two kilometres. We highly recommend visiting it on foot to minimize the amount of traffic as well as thoroughly enjoy the area. If this is not possible, Lake Jasna offers free parking spaces right next to the lake. Kranjska Gora is a beautiful alpine village and the most famous Slovenian ski resort situated on the northern tip of the Triglav National Park in the Slovenian Alps, just a mere 5 minutes by car from both the Italian and Austrian borders. The resort isn’t the largest ski area in Slovenia but it’s the oldest one and one of the prettiest.
