 Maribor, Slovenia   There's nothing not to love about Motel pri Lesniku - we would refer it more as a boutique hotel rather than a motel. It's family run and the staff go out of their way to help, advise and generally smooth your stay - nothing is too much trouble. The location is nice, close to the highway and about 8 minutes drive to the centre of Maribor. The building is well kept and everything is very clean and up to date. The rooms are spacious and nicely furnished and the beds are some of the most comfortable we have slept in. There is no lift so if you have issues with stairs or heavy luggage ask for a room on the first floor. The bathroom is modern with a glass shower stall. The breakfast, included in the price, is a huge buffet with lots and lots of choice including cheeses, meats, breads, 3 types of eggs, homemade jams, fruit and more. The on-site restaurant has a reputation of being one of the best in Maribor and there are menu and a la carte options and the food is delicious, There's a lovely garden, a mini golf playground and a small spa area with a sauna, a steam bath, and a hot tub. The free wifi works excellent, a great connection and speeds as fast as our connection at home. The ample free parking is also a good thing. | Maribor, Slovenia  Guest House Pohorska Kavarna is located on the south western side of Maribor, very close to the Pohorje ski slopes and at a distance of about eight kilometres (10 minutes drive) to the center of town. The place is family run and has a very popular on-site café with excellent coffee and delicious homemade cakes too. The rooms are spacious with all the typical amenities you like to have when traveling. If you are a light sleeper ask for a room at the back as the street can be a little noisy. The bathrooms are in good shape and clean. The breakfast is buffet style with excellent choice of food - several choices of eggs, pancakes, cheeses, meats, cereals, breads, cakes and more. All the staff are so friendly and always willing to help and will give you tips on what to do and where to go. At the back, there is a nice playground where children can play safely and parents can relax and enjoy a drink whilst keeping an eye on their little ones at play. The free wifi and free parking are also a great plus. Maribor, Slovenia  Guest House Tasner is located in a beautiful peaceful area at the bottom of the Pohorje hill in the outskirts of Maribor, only a short walk to the ski slopes and at a distance of about 10 minutes drive to the center of the city. The rooms are on the large side and are well kept. The bathrooms are nice and clean. The breakfast is buffet style and offers a good choice of hot and cold food. The on-site restaurant is worth a special mention. A fine dining experience that definitely beat our expectations. And the food is also great value. The staff are friendly and always approachable and ready to help. The free wi-fi works well and the free parking is also a plus.
