There are many nice bars/cafes, restaurants, a supermarket, and two bakeries in the immediate vicinity. The hostel is well-designed and equipped with modern facilities & furnishing and everything looks very new and clean. There are many room options ranging from dorms to the apartments! The beds are comfortable enough and there is enough storage space for personal belongings in a lockable drawer next to the bed, The shared kitchen is well-equipped and clean and the dining area is spacious. The free breakfast is basic but adequate if you don't want anything fancy, There's also a small TV room and plenty of fantastic balconies complete with tables and chairs. The atmosphere is nice and laid back with plenty of opportunity to meet other random travellers. They also have some computers and washing machines that you can use for free. The staff are really friendly and always willing to help out with directions and local info. The free WiFi works well with a pretty fast connection all over the hostel. The free private parking is another nice bonus. In summary, Pekarna ticks all the boxes in terms of a hostel - it's clean. the beds are comfortable enough. it's got a decent breakfast and great kitchen facilities, and generally everything, including bathrooms are clean and modern. 4ROOMS Maribor, Slovenia 4Rooms is more a guest house than a hostel as it has 4 private rooms and shared bathroom facilities consisting of one shower, bath and toilet and two sinks. It's situated in a small street off the main square and there are many great cafes, bars and restaurants only a short walk away. All the main city attractions are within walking distance and it's a good 10 minutes walk from the main train station. There's no front desk, so it's probably best to let the owner know when to expect you ahead of time so you can be let in. Alternatively you can call the owner when you arrive there or just go to the pub next door and ask them to call him. The place is very clean and all four rooms are well decorated, comfortable and very modern. The breakfast is not available but there are endless options within a couple of minutes walk. The free WiFi works well with more-than-adequate signal strength.
