Terme 3000 Overview

The Terme 3000 thermal bath complex is located in the spa town of Moravske Toplice, which was established in the 1960s after several hot-water springs were discovered in the area during the search for oil.

Terme 3000 is known for having the hottest water in Slovenia which has 72°C at its source, but is then cooled to 38°C for use in its several pools and basins. The unique black thermo-mineral water helps treat rheumatic illnesses, diseases of the respiratory system, and skin and rehabilitation following injuries or surgeries. The whole complex of hotels and pools includes a medical facility, a wellness centre offering massages and saunas and a holiday area which is very popular with families with young children.

Terme 3000 Review

Terme 3000 is one of the newest thermal spas in Slovenia, located in Moravske Toplice in the far northeastern corner of Slovenia, about 7 kilometres northeast of Murska Sobota (the regional capital of Prekmurje) and 180 kilometres or 1,5 hours driving from Ljubljana.

The indoor section of the Terme 3000 thermal bath complex has four pools split over two levels plus a sauna area, cafe and a wading pool for babies and toddlers. It is open year round and was recently fully renovated.

The outdoor section features seven pools and eight water slides, including the fastest in Slovenia and the fourth fastest in Europe. This outdoor section is geared towards families with children and is open in the summer months from June to September.

The ‘black’ thermal water in the pools has 34°C to 38°C and is recommended for relief of rheumatism and certain minor skin ailments.

Beside visitors from all across Slovenia, Terme 3000 caters mostly to German-speaking tourists and most information is available in German and English. The staff are very hospitable and will do their best to make you feel welcome.

The complex also offers a variety of accommodation choices, ranging from a five-star and two four-star hotels to self-catering apartments, a camping site and even a four-star, charming wooden houses inspired by traditional thatched-roof houses known as ‘cimprace’.

Only a stone’s throw away is the 18-hole Livada golf course which is a welcome addition to the vast Terme 3000 thermal bath complex. Besides golfing, there are also other possibilities for outdoor activities, such as cycling and horseback riding.

All in all, a nice, large thermal bath complex that offers every type of water fun and a varied wellness options with massages and beauty treatments.

At 6,236 metres (6,819 yards), this lovely golf course stretches across 59 hectares and boasts the longest hole in Slovenia - the signature 596-metre par five 9th hole. When building the course, special attention was paid to the preservation of the original flora and fauna of the area, which has led to some quite uniquely-shaped and very challenging greens, fairways and sand bunkers.
