Terme Olimia Thermal Bath Complex And Spa In Podcetrtek

Terme Olimia Overview

Terme Olimia is one of Slovenia’s largest and most popular thermal spas. It’s located in Podcetrtek, on Slovenia’s eastern border with Croatia. It has thermal water full of magnesium and calcium for health, which has 28°C to 35°C.

Terme Olimia History

The story of Terme Olimia began on September 6th, 1966, when the Tourist Society in cooperation with the railway company Zelezniško Gospodarstvo Ljubljana officially inaugurated the wooden pool with thermal water in Podcetrtek. Many other facilities were consequently added to the wooden pool, extending the capacity of the thermal spa in all fields, from bathing to catering industry, health services and recreational capacities. The first hotel was built in 1977, followed by swimming pools. In 1988-1989 the ‘Atomic Village’ was built, an apartment complex in the manner of rustic houses, and later also a modern spa complex with indoor and outdoor pools and hotels. The year 2000 was the most important milestone in the development of the thermal spa, including the change of the name from Atomic Thermal Spa into Terme Olimia. The former name had, especially abroad, a negative marketing effect.

Next the Thermal Park Aqualuna was built, with slides, the largest pool with waves, and the Orhidelia wellness, which was named as the best wellness centre in Slovenia for several consecutive years in a row.

Terme Olimia Review

The area is great for younger and older kids as they all have their own pools and attractions, including many water slides, a wave pool and an aqua-jungle adventure course. For smaller kids, there’s a shallow pool with a few gentle water slides.

The more intimate Spa Armonia is housed in the Hotel Sotelia and offers beauty treatments and various massages. It is particularly famous for its Armonia, Olimia and Vitae massages and pampering for couples.

The Olimia health centre is housed in Hotel Breza and offers curative programmes for patients suffering from rheumatic diseases, circulatory system problems, injuries and operations to bones and muscles, peripheral nervous system deficiencies and skin diseases. They use physiotherapy, hydrotherapy, electrotherapy, mechanotherapy, thermotherapy, and magnetotherapy among other therapies to treat the patient’s health conditions.

The thermal water in the pools has 24°C to 38°C and is full of magnesium and calcium.

The complex offers accommodation in two hotels (Hotel Sotelia and Hotel Breza), an apartment complex (Aparthotel Rosa), a tourist village (Village Lipa), a glamping site (Glamping Adria Olimia Village) and a camping site (Campsite Natura). Places to stay in Podcetrtek that we recommend
The accommodation options in Podcetrtek can be divided into four main categories: hotels, guest houses, B&Bs, and self catering apartments.
HOTELS IN PODCETRTEK THAT WE RECOMMEND

Podcetrtek is an endearing village on Slovenia's eastern border with Croatia, where most people come to escape from the stress of daily life and unwind at the Terme Olimia thermal spa. With Podcetrtek being a small village, there are only a couple of hotels there. Find out which are the ones that we recommend and why.
GUEST HOUSES IN PODCETRTEK THAT WE RECOMMEND

Podcetrtek guest houses are a type of accommodation that provides inexpensive lodging to the tourists. They are very similar to bed and breakfasts with reasonable rates for the rooms. They are typically houses that have been exclusively converted into guesthouses for travelers and have very limited staff - usually the owner and family members.
APARTMENTS IN PODCETRTEK THAT WE RECOMMEND

For the budget-conscious tourist who enjoys cooking, Podcetrtek's self catering apartments offer a nice combination of independence and practicality. Self catering gives you the freedom to create the meals you want, which is especially useful for those who need to stick to specific diets. It means you’re not obligated to eat breakfast at set times like in hotels or bed and breakfasts, and provides the flexibility to come and go as you please.

Podcetrtek bed and breakfasts are an inexpensive and relaxing alternative to a classic hotel. Typical bed and breakfasts in Podcetrtek are private homes with fewer than four bedrooms, and they usually offer a delicious breakfast with lots of choice and variety for guests, but don't serve other meals.
