Hostels in Bohinj that we think are the best and worth staying at

Bohinj hostels are the main source of budget accommodation in the area and are in essence a form of shared accommodation. In general, you will share a large room with three to ten people sleeping on either single or bunk beds. Facilities such as bathrooms, kitchens and social areas are also shared and so its a great opportunity to meet other travelers. Twin and double rooms are available in some hostels.

When you stay at a hostel in Bohinj you are usually provided with: some or all of your bedding, somewhere like a locker to store your stuff, use of a fridge for food and friendly staff to help plan your trip and next stop.

APARTMENTS & HOSTEL BOHINJ
Stara Fuzina, Bohinj, Slovenia

Apartments & Hostel Bohinj is located in the Stara Fuzina village, about 15-20 minutes walk from the Bohinj lake. It's very quiet and peaceful place with beautiful scenery all around. There is restaurants, cafes, grocery stores, and tourist info all within walking distance from the property. The hostel is in a beautiful old building and the apartments are in the new building next to this old building. The whole place is well maintained and very clean. The hostel part is actually more a guest house than a hostel as it has private rooms and shared bathroom facilities. The rooms were recently renovated and have beautiful views of the mountains. The shared bathrooms are new and quite modern. The common kitchen is well equipped and kept really clean. There's a nice garden terrace outside where it's easy to get in touch with other travellers. The staff are very helpful and knowledgeable of the area and always willing to provide you directions and tips for must sees, must dos, and places to eat. The free WiFi isn't incredibly fast, but it works okay. Free private parking is available too.

HOSTEL POD VOGLOM
Ribcev Laz, Bohinj, Slovenia

Hostel Pod Voglom is in an extraordinary beautiful location overlooking Lake Bohinj. If you like nature this place is for you - it's calm and quiet, but within manageable walking distance (20 minutes) to many restaurants, cafes and shops. The Vogel ski resort is a 5 minute drive away. While the building and the hostel itself is nothing fancy it is good value and most importantly has everything you need for a relaxed and comfortable stay in Bohinj. The rooms are of different sizes but all are clean and functional and some even have a private balcony. Make sure you get a room with a lake view (and possibly also a private bathroom) - the views of the lake and mountains in the background are simply breathtaking. The bathrooms are on the small side but well maintained and clean. The breakfast is simple but nice and filling, it sets you up well for a full day of activities. If you are half board, the evening meals are nice - a mixture of Slovenian food and others and with three courses each night you won't go hungry: soup, main meal with salad and dessert. What makes this hostel stand out is the staff - they are very knowledgeable about the local area, super helpful, and friendly. The hostel is also an activity centre so you can hire bikes, canoes and arrange other activities. The free WiFi doesn't reach the annex, so it's best to ask for a room in the main part of the building if Wi-Fi is important to you. Ample free parking is available right outside.
