A special part of City Park is the Three Ponds area, a serene and picturesque highlight that adds extra charm to this green oasis. These three artificial ponds—originally created as a water reserve for the city’s old defense moat—are now a tranquil spot teeming with ducks, swans, turtles, fish, and other wildlife. Surrounded by shady paths, benches, and lush greenery, they create a peaceful retreat for relaxing walks, birdwatching, or simply enjoying the reflections on the water. The area feels like a hidden gem within the park, with an artificial island in one pond serving as a bird nesting spot, and it’s right next to the popular Aquarium-Terrarium for added fun.
