Bed and breakfasts in Piran that we recommend
B&B MIRACOLO DI MARE
Piran, Slovenia

B&B Miracolo di Mare is a lovingly run small B&B situated right in the historic centre of Piran in a quiet residential back street, only three minutes walk from the main Tartini square. The location is perfect for everything you might want to do in Piran. The house is full of nice nautical touches, being only a few blocks in from the Adriatic, and the vibe is comfortable. There are 12 rooms available. There is no lift, so ask for a lower level if you have trouble with stairs. The rooms are fairly small but they are nicely furnished, very clean and have everything you need for a comfortable stay. The beds are comfortable with nice pillows. Only a few rooms have air-con, others have no air conditioning, but there is a fan, so the temperature is not uncomfortable and you can also open the windows for fresh air. The bathrooms are small but clean and functional and the shower is pretty great with good water pressure. The breakfast is generous and delicious with sliced meat, cheese, cereals, breads, fruit, jams, juice, tea, coffee and some delicious sweet pastries to finish. It is served in a beautifully appointed garden with palm trees, cactus and flowering plants. It's a perfect and peaceful way to start the day, away from the roar of traffic. Apart from breakfast, there are no other meals served here. However, there are good restaurants near the B and B and if you walk a bit further along the water, you will find a wealth of cafe culture and al fresco dining spots. The owners and staff are friendly and have an abundance of local knowledge about great seafood restaurants, things to do and places of interest to see. The free WiFi is fast and stable in the rooms, but a little week in the garden. If driving to Piran you need to park the car on the recommended parking area where a free shuttle bus is provided that takes you into Tartini Square and the B and B is just a short distance from the square. In summary, Miracolo is an all around great bed and breakfast with nicely furnished and well equipped rooms and a wonderful breakfast served outside in a lovely garden. The location is not in the absolute buzzy center of Piran near Tartini Square, but just at the entrance to the action, only a short walk from the bus station, where most shuttles stop, making it a very convenient place to stay.

MAX PIRAN
Piran, Slovenia

Max Piran is a small B&B situated right in the heart of Piran, around 100 meters up a lovely lane from the main Tartini square, and with a view directly up to the campanile of St. George's Parish Church. The central location of this B&B very near the main Tartini square puts most of the attractions in Piran within easy walking distance. It's less than 5 minutes walk to the square and just a few more minutes to the sea. The proximity to the bus stop also makes it easy to utilize public transportation. The bed and breakfast itself is a renovated building from the beginning of the 18th century. There are 6 rooms available. The rooms are lovely with comfortable beds, very effective air-con, a flat screen TV and a safe. There is free WiFi which works perfectly in the rooms. The bathrooms are nice and totally adequate and the shower works really well. The breakfast is a little basic with breads, cheeses, meats, fruits, etc., but quite adequate to set you up for the day. A good selection of teas and coffee is available too, The owner, Max, is friendly and helpful with lots of tips and local knowledge. He seems to do everything in this family B&B. As for parking, the B&B is in a pedestrian area so you must park in the central multi-story parking facility and take free bus to the town square and walk to it. All in all, this is a nice bed and breakfast, in a wonderful place with well-maintained air-conditioned rooms, comfortable beds and decent breakfast in the morning.

VILLA VERDE BOUTIQUE B & B
Piran, Slovenia

Villa Verde Boutique B & B is a charming bed and breakfast run by a very welcoming elderly couple. The location is excellent, near enough to everything but also very quiet. It's about a 5-8 minute walk to the centre of Piran and about 10 minutes to the beach of Fiesa. The B&B is very small with only 4 newly renovated rooms in 1950s style. The rooms are nicely and simply furnished and they have very effective air conditioning. The beds are very comfortable and the rooms dark and quiet to allow a nice sleep. There's no television in the rooms (though to be honest that's not necessarily a bad thing). The bathrooms are on the small side but this is to be expected from an old property. Everything is spotlessly clean. The owners, Jozef and Hilde, couldn't be more friendly and helpful. They speak fluent German, but don't speak much English. They make a delicious and generous breakfast, which is optional and not included in the room rate, but is well priced and definitely value for money. There is a small but very lovely garden which is perfect when you want to rest a little bit outside without going to the town. As for parking, the B&B is in a pedestrian area,, but the solution is easy. You can park your car near the school at the top of the hill, and drop your bags off. The owners will give you a parking pass for the garage on the edge of the town, and there is a free bus back into town. The WiFi is free but it's better in some rooms than others. Overall, this is a lovely, peaceful B&B within easy walking distance of the main square and the seafront. Very friendly owners, clean and comfortable rooms and tasty breakfast.

BENECANKA CASA VENEZIANA PIRAN
Piran, Slovenia

Benecanka Casa Veneziana Piran is a luxury bed and breakfast housed in the most famous and, for many, the most beautiful building in Piran. It was built in the 15th century and is the oldest building on the main Tartini square. Decorated with stone ornaments and a corner Gothic balcony, it is one of the most beautiful examples of Venetian Gothic architecture in Slovenia. The location is perfect and everything is in easy walking distance. There are two rooms available in the building, one on the 2nd floor and one in the loft on the top floor. There is no lift in the building so it may not be suitable for people with impaired mobility or elderly people who have difficulty with stairs. Both rooms are luxurious, immaculately clean, very welcoming and in perfect condition. The lighting is great too. The beds are ultra comfortable and so are the pillows. The air con is excellent and much needed in Piran's hot summers. The bathroom is nothing short of luxurious and has all of the most modern amenities and a fantastic rain shower. Each morning, the breakfast arrives exactly at the time you choose. The owners, Gorazd and his wife, could not be more friendly and helpful. If you have a car and parking in Piran is not allowed, except for 15 minutes in order to unload your luggage. Gorazd will supply you with a car park pass (free of charge) so that you can park just outside Piran in an underground car park and then take the shuttle bus back into the town centre. The free WiFi is fast and easy to connect to. All in all, a really special place to spend a few nights, expensive but well worth it.

CASA MIA
Piran, Slovenia

Casa Mia is a rustic bed and breakfast located on a hill above the Piran Old Town. The location is great and it's a direct walk down a steep hill to the town, maybe a 5-8 minute walk to the main Tartini square (longer on the way back up for the unfit!). The owners purchased a neglected property a year ago and are in the process of renovating the remainder of the rooms, the grounds, and the overall property. It is nice, but once they finish the renovation, it will be tremendous. There are 10 rooms in the building, which all vary in shape and design due to the flexibility and character provided by these older villas. The rooms are clean with comfortable beds, they are not fancy, but absolutely comfortable, clean, and have everything needed for a nice stay. Some rooms have a balcony with a breathtaking elevated view of Piran and the sea. The bedrooms are on the small side but quite adequate. The breakfast is great, the owners are offering 4 menus and always ask if you want something more. The breakfast is served on a wonderful terrace. The view from the terrace is amazing and it's so relaxing to sit there and have a glass of wine and watch the sunset. The hosts, Anita and her husband, could not be more welcoming and gracious. They are in the process of renovating and, while they still have a ways to go, they are doing a fantastic job. The parking is free on the property, which is not easy to find in Piran and a huge benefit. The WiFi works well; in some rooms better than in others. All in all, a wonderful calm place with stunning views over the sea and the town. The rooms and bathrooms are clean. Great for a hassle free stay in Piran, since you can park your car by the B&B and for the rest of time just walk downtown anytime. Very friendly owners on top.
