Guesthouses in Piran that we recommend
GUEST HOUSE PACHAMAMA PLEASANT STAY 3 stars
Piran, Slovenia
Exterior of Guest House PachaMama Pleasant Stay in Piran, Slovenia

Guest House PachaMama Pleasant Stay is a wonderful family run guesthouse in an ideal location only metres from the main Tartini square in Piran. Everything is only a very short walk away, yet it's reasonably quiet and welcoming. The ancient building has been recently renovated and does not show its age at all, inside or out. It's decorated simply with photography from some really nice places from around the world. There is no lift in the building, so if stairs aren't your thing, ask for a lower level room. Although there's no lift, the stairway is easy to maneuver with suitcases and the lobby is very comfortable with large bean bag chairs, shared books and magazines and some local crafts for purchase. The rooms are fairly small but well furnished and very modern in terms of decor and amenities. The beds are very comfortable and the bedding is of high quality. The air-con in the rooms works well, which is essential as the weather in July and August is stiflingly hot. The bathrooms are very modern with excellent showers with plenty of pressure and hot water. They offer a vegan breakfast which is served on the roof terrace and costs extra. It consisted of a fruit smoothie, fresh fruit, bread and a bowl of mixed muesli, fruit, yoghurt and seeds. It's very healthy and delicious, even if you are not vegetarian or vegan. Tea and coffee is also served. The guests can use a fully fitted communal kitchen with all the equipment you would need including fridge and freezer. The roof terrace is lovely for sitting and reading during the day. As for parking, the guest house is in a pedestrian area so you must park in the central multi-story parking facility and take free bus to the town square and walk to it. The free WiFi works great in the rooms and common areas, good signal and good speed. In summary, the guesthouse could not be located better, being just off the main square. The place itself is very high quality, the rooms are small but very clean and have everything you need, the staff is very friendly and there's a good little communal kitchen and lovely terrace.

GUEST HOUSE PRIMA Z
Piran, Slovenia
Exterior of Guest House Prima Z in Piran, Slovenia

Guest House Prima Z is a small family run guesthouse type accommodation. The location is great, near the waterfront, in a historic building in a narrow lane accessed through an arch between restaurants facing the sea. Very atmospheric! It's just steps away from the main Tartini square and everything is in easy walking distance. The rooms and apartments vary in size but all are charming and comfortable. The rooms are spotlessly clean, and bright with enough places to put your luggage and belongings. The decor is attractive and the beds are comfortable and the bedding is wonderful. The bathrooms are modern and towels and toiletries are provided too. The apartments also have a small kitchen with all essentials needed to cook a simple meal. The air con works perfectly ensuring a good night sleep. There is no view however, if that is important to you. There is also no breakfast, but there are plenty of great places to eat within easy walking distance and a very nice bakery is just around the corner. The owner, Laura, is the best feature of this guesthouse. She provides a personal touch which is often missing in similar places. Always cheerful, she will offer tips and advice on places of interest to visit, restaurants, and more. If you are with a car, she will explain you how to drive into the old town, drop off your luggage and return to the garage up the hill, where you can leave your car and take the shuttle bus back to the old town. The free WiFi works extremely well in the rooms and it's very fast. In conclusion; a wonderful guesthouse with comfortable rooms/apartments, very friendly owner and excellent location.

GUESTHOUSE OPARA 3 stars
Piran, Slovenia
Exterior of Guesthouse Opara in Piran, Slovenia

Guesthouse Opara is a wonderful place to stay located about a 10 minute walk to the historic center of Piran in one direction and in the other direction a 10 minute walk to the beach of Fiesa. The grounds are very well kept. There are 8 apartments and rooms available in the building, all decorated with nice modern furniture and extremely clean. The rooms are recently renovated and just lovely, very cosy and have everything you need for a comfortable stay. The beds are very comfortable and all furnishings and fixtures are very high quality. The only thing we would suggest is a few spare pillows. The air con works great which is important as temperatures in Piran regularly go above 30°C during July and August. The apartments also have a kitchen, which is rather small but more than adequate for light meals. There is also a large shared kitchen outside if you need more space for cooking a nice meal. The breakfast isn't included but is well worth the price, It is individually tailored and prepared fresh. It's served on large, well appointed terrace overlooking the sea. The views to Trieste and beyond are simply magnificent and a real treat. The owner Martina is an absolutely lovely person who is always smiling and very friendly. She is eager to make you feel right at home and has great local knowledge. There is free private parking on-site, which is a real plus in Piran. Also, they have a strong WiFi connection. In conclusion, an all around great guesthouse and the location is very handy, especially if you need parking.

PIRANIKA 3 stars
Piran, Slovenia
Exterior of Piranika in Piran, Slovenia

Piranika is a guesthouse type accommodation housed in a historic building in the center of Piran. The location is really excellent, close to the main Tartini square and near the bus stop. Yet it's very quiet. There are six double rooms in the building. The check in is very smooth and easy. There is no reception, instead they send you a code to get into the building and your room inside. It makes the process very quick and the whole stay is great with no disturbances. The rooms are small but decorated in a modern style and very clean. The beds are large and very comfortable with nice, soft pillows. The air con works well and is quiet. The TV is large and has lots of channels. The bathrooms are brand new and even though very small, they are modern and the water pressure in the shower is good. There are no toiletries in any of the rooms so you will need to bring some, but there is a hair dryer provided. Some rooms have obstructed sea views or, better said, sea glimpses. There is no breakfast or other meals served at the guesthouse, but there's a nice restaurant downstairs and there are also plenty of options within a couple of minutes walk. There is no staff at the location. If you need something you must call them by phone. With parking in the town centre being prohibited you need to park the car on the recommended parking area where a free shuttle bus is provided that takes you into Tartini Square and the guesthouse is only a short distance from the square. The charge for the car park is quite expensive (€17 per day). There is free WiFi but the signal isn't very good in most of the rooms. Sometimes you have to go out into the hallway/stairway in order for it to work. In summary, we'd say that this place is great for a short stay, but you might want to look elsewhere if you are going to be here longer than a few days.

SONCNE TERASE
Piran, Slovenia
Exterior of Soncne Terase in Piran, Slovenia

Soncne Terase is a family run guesthouse located in a beautiful quiet area on the hill above Piran. It's a 5-minute walk from the beach in Fiesa and a 15-minute walk to the historic center of Piran (via shortcut). The walk downhill to Piran is very pleasant with plenty of beautiful views. For the uphill walk back to the guesthouse we recommend to use a taxi. There are 8 apartments and studios in the building. They vary in size and shape but are comfortable and extremely clean. They have been recently renovated with all mod cons you'll need for a relaxing stay. Some also have a balcony or a terrace with a great view. The beds are comfortable, but the pillows are a little flat. The bathrooms are small, but adequate, with plenty of hot water whatever time of the day. The apartments also have a small kitchen with all that is necessary to prepare a meal. There's no breakfast served at the guest house. Ana the owner is lovely, very helpful and friendly and very welcoming. If you are arriving with a car they have a nice parking lot on the property which is a huge plus in Piran. The free WiFi is a little bit weak, especially at night time when more people is using it. All in all, a good guesthouse to stay if coming to Piran with a car.
