Livada Golf Course In Moravske Toplice

Situated in the small spa town of Moravske Toplice in the very northeast corner of Slovenia, at the edge of the vast Pannonian Plain in Slovenia’s Prekmurje region, the 18-hole Livada golf course is a welcome addition to the vast Terme 3000 thermal bath complex.

At 6,236 metres (6,819 yards), the Livada golf course stretches across 59 hectares and boasts the longest hole in Slovenia – the signature 596-metre par five 9th hole. The course was inaugurated in 2005 and makes the most of the beautiful natural surroundings. When building the course, special attention was paid to the preservation of the original flora and fauna of the area, which has led to some quite uniquely-shaped and very challenging greens, fairways and sand bunkers.

Collage of places to stay in Slovenia

This very beautiful course with an abundance of flora and fauna and multiple water hazards guarding the greens (and a few fairways) hosts more than 70 events every year, among them the international open championship for amateur players.

Livada Golf Course is also a great choice for golfers who want to relax after an afternoon of golf. Just a stone’s throw away from the course is the five-star Livada Prestige hotel, known for its large swimming pool and 122 five-star rooms, many with thermal water piped straight into the bathrooms for your own private spa experience. The nearby Terme 3000 thermal bath complex, with its sprawling complex of swimming pools truly offers every type of water fun. The recently fully renovated indoor section of this complex, which is open year-round, has four pools split over two levels plus a sauna area, cafe and a wading pool for little ones. The outdoor section, which is open June to September, is geared towards family fun with seven pools and eight water slides, including the fourth fastest in Europe. The highlight of Terme 3000 is its natural ‘black’ water, which is a blistering 72 degrees Celsius at the source but thankfully cools down to a tolerable 34 degrees in the pools.

Moravske Toplice lies in the heart of the Prekmurje region, a region by the Mura River that’s really fascinating with its many natural and ethnological features and fine local cuisine.
