20 Beautiful Vintgar Gorge Photos To Inspire You To Visit Slovenia

About The Vintgar Gorge

Vintgar Gorge, or Bled Gorge as it is also known, is undoubtedly one of the most extraordinary places to visit in Slovenia. It is situated at the edge of the Triglav National Park in the northwestern corner of Slovenia, only 4 kilometres (2.5 miles) northwest of the famous Lake Bled and some 65 kilometres (40 miles) northwest of Slovenia’s capital Ljubljana. It is a truly breathtaking 1.6-kilometre-long gorge and a must see natural attraction for anyone visiting the area!

Carved out by the emerald green Radovna River, the canyon walls rise up to 100 meters high around you as you traverse the wooden walkways snaking along the gorge. The trail leads past the rushing, foaming waters of the Radovna River to the beautiful 13-meter-high Sum waterfall at the end of the gorge.
