About The Photographer
The field of landscape photography is still dominated by men, but that seems to be slowly changing. Significantly more women are pursuing landscape photography (or at least are more visible) and many have developed compelling and very impressive portfolios of work. Klara Kulovec is one in a line of talented new Slovenian female landscape photographers who has found her passion with a camera in her hands. She has a heart of an artist and loves nothing more than time with her camera and a scene in front of her to capture the perfect copy of what she saw in her minds’ eye. The forms, color and light that shape the landscape are a constant source of her inspiration.
The sheer diversity of the Slovenian landscape allows Klara to capture this wonderful country in its ever-changing moods with her unique feminine view of the world. Below is a selection of 35 of her landscape and nature photos that Klara kindly shared with us, but if you want to see more of her work, you can visit her Facebook page Klara Kulovec Photography!

Lake Bled is Slovenia’s number one tourist attraction. Even if you have no idea where Slovenia is on a map, you are probably visually familiar with the place since it happens to be one of the most photogenic and photographed places in the entire world.
There is a church with a looming spire on the island in the middle of Lake Bled. Lots of people get married here.
There is no motorized transportation on Lake Bled. If you want to get to the island in the middle of the lake, you’ll need to row or take a ride in a traditional wooden boat, called Pletna.
Bohinj is home to another beautiful lake, one which doesn’t have the fame of Bled, but it’s just as gorgeous, if not more.
Located inside gorgeously picturesque Triglav National Park and surrounded by the Julian Alps, Lake Bohinj is one of those tranquil and beautiful places that never fail to impress and where it feels like time has stood still in all of the best ways.
In the summer and early autumn, Lake Velenje is a popular swimming resort, providing fun not only for swimmers but also for windsurfers and small boat sailors.

The Franciscan church of St. Mary in Maribor. Originally a monastery dating from the 12th century, this red-bricked church was built in its place with a two-towered, three nave basilica at the very end of the 19th century. It was designed by a famous Viennese architect, Richard Jordan and dedicated to St. Mary Mother of Mercy.
