About The Photographer
Peter Zajfrid is a well-respected and very passionate amateur landscape photographer based in the small town of Ruse in the Styria region of Slovenia, who loves capturing the beauty of this world through photography. He enjoys the outdoors and nature, and photography provides him with a medium to capture and share this with others. He especially loves creating images that portray the beauty of Slovenian Styria and its landscapes. Quality of light, for Peter, is the key factor and at the heart of his work. He enjoys the way light transforms the landscape momentarily, revealing cloudscapes, atmosphere, form and textures – he tries to capture that moment. He likes to explore the integration and effect of weather and the seasons on landscape, locally where he lives in Ruse and around the Styria region of Slovenia and when travelling further afield.
Below is a selection of 40 Peter Zajfrid’s landscape photographs from all over the Styria region of Slovenia. You can see more of his beautiful work on his Facebook page Peter Zajfrid Photo and on his website Peter Zajfrid, where he runs a photo blog which is well worth following and contains many more stunning landscape photos.

Škoda, da ni v kitajščini. Jih je precej več.
Bravo Peter,
čudovite slike in kombinacije barv, svetlobe in izbira motivov.
From a fellow photog, spectacular photos, Peter. The photo with this caption had me initially perplexed,,,”View of the landscape of the Slovene Hills as seen from the Plac lookout tower located on the Placki Vrh peak”. I thought the light between the hills was the Sun. But I guess it’s the town lights reflecting off the fog. I guess a long exposure intensified the light. Beautiful.
Bruce K.
Wonderful photos! My favourite is Lake Pernica.
Mine too, I just love that place 😀
In to naš SVET :).Boste šli še kam v Slovenske “kotičke” z vašim fotoaparatom?
I am deeply in love with every single photograph posted here.
Jasno, kapiš, komprende jao no……… 🙂
Cudoviti posnetki. Vi ste umetnik
Dreamy pictures, somehow some of those remind me of my childhood in Italy.
Jas snam, zivim v Dallas Texas.john4203344@yahoo.com.John Kastelic.ZIVJO !!!!.
Outstanding photography, I am transported!
Amazing photographs, nothing like nature!
Absolutely spectacular. Thank you for sharing your part of the world. Styria/Slovenia is on my bucket list.
I very much enjoyed this. Great photos!
prekrasno ! 🙂
Fantastic, next challenge is to cover with your lenses some other parts such as Bela Krajina, the Soča Valley, Julian Alps, Karst…plenty of work still to do….
I see I should go back again … for the 4th time.
Absolutely stunning photos, thank you so much!! 🙂
Odlicno, odlicno Peter!
ODLICNO !!!
Se opravicujem.
Čudovite fotografije, bravo Peter. Z veseljem bom poslala v Anglijo, Avstralijo, Kanado.
Kar kar, hvala lepa 🙂
Thank you Peter, I loved revisiting some of the places I had seen last time I was in Maribor.
You are truly an artist. I left Slovenia and now live in Australia.
PREKRASNO g. Peter. Saj vemo, da imamo prekrasno deželo, a vi ste to še prikazali v vseh
superlativih. ČESTITAM !!!
Ivanka
Very beautiful! Thanks for sharing these stunning photos.
Zeer indrukwekkend

Which Country is still prettier than our small Slovenia?
To je res podoba raja.
Beautiful pictures……really admiring them!
V veliko čast mi bo posredovati to čudovito delo in našo deželo svojim svojcem in znancem po svetu. Mojster, moj poklon.
Hvala 🙂
Obvezno!
Beautiful. Thanks for sharing.
I love getting to experience another part of the world. You did a great job bringing it to life! Thank you.
Just amazing, some of these photos look like paintings.
Mojster.
Iskrene čestitke in hvala.
Hvala.
Francka
That is where my great ancestors are from! Awesome I’ve never seen it like that before.
Kako lepo, ko nekdo vidi štajerski konec Slovenije kot lepoto neokrnjene narave. Pridite in uživajte.
Petrove fotke so čudoviti posnetki čudovitih krajev. Prekrasno! Hvala!
Those are very beautiful pictures of Slovenia.
The photos are breathtaking! Truly inspiring!
Oh kako lepa si ti domovina! Biser in raj na Zemlji tej. Vse čestitke avtorju za enkratno delo. Lepo je tudi naše Pomurje, posebej Goričko.
Še enkrat iskrene čestitke in HVALA.
Fantasticno 🌞 love it – missing Slovenija
Totally impressive. The place and the photos.
Some beautiful images in there. Reminds me of when I went to Croatia.
Lepa slika — Bravo!
Truly artistic! I felt like want to live in that part of the world!
I am flattered so much, cos I do live here.
Hvala!
Styria must be such a great region of Slovenia, and Mr. Zajfrid must be such a talented photographer!
Nice pictures.
Poklon avtorju.
Hvala in lep pozdrav,
Heda
As a Born Slovenia, I know all the scenes from the photos. Yes,. the country around Maribor it’s simply breathtaking as are the people. Thanks for the reminder as after long absence things fade a little
Another, WOW! Love the photos, thanks for sharing.
As a person who appreciates photography, I can only wonder how Peter Zajfrid is able to capture such amazing images.
Some of the photos really soothe the soul in such a way that you really want to be there just to contemplete and enjoy the landscape together with your own thoughts!!! Thank you for sharing. I am looking forward for more!
What a beautiful place Styria is. Not much attention is given to it so I’m glad you did this gallery.
Very colorful pictures. Very pleasing and very well shot.
Brilliant, excellent photos, I didn’t know Slovenia was so beautiful.
Awesome pictures. Styria is such a beautiful part of Slovenia.
TU NISO POTREBNI PODNAPISI,FOTOGRAFIJA GOVORI VSAKA SAMA ZASE !
ljudje ,govorijo in citajo anlesko.
Pozdrav Kristina
HVALA, Peter! Pokrajinski štajerski album Vaših, občudujočih, fotografskih dosežkov sem dobil od Janeza Godnova (Janez, HVALA). Res smo lepi in odzivi to nesporno dokazujejo. LEPO SE IMEJTE, Peter!
Absolutely beautiful – thank you.
These are the most beautiful pictures I have ever seen! So much green (my favorite color!).
Thank you all for kind words 🙂
Prekrasni so ti tvoji slovenski krajinski motivi. Bravo, Peter!
Really awesome pics, You have captured the spirit of Styria.
Breathtaking photos Peter. What an eye you have for beauty! And what a glorious place.
Never saw it looking so good. Been away for almost 52 years now. Hope to visit again one of these days
I enjoyed your stunning pictures. They look so delicate, almost like a painting. Would you like to share with me what kind of camera you are using. I’m an amateur photographer and would like to follow your path. Thank you for sharing,
Moje spoštovanje!
Amazing photos. I am from Canada and we have been planning to visit Slovenia for a few years now. Will definitely come to this area. I have been following you on FB for a while. Love your pictures. Thanks for sharing.
Wow. Beautiful place and photographs.
Some really fantastic photos here: Styria looks like a beautiful place! Wish I could’ve seen it when I was in Slovenia.
My goodness thank you for this! I had a friend from Maribor at university, and he used to come back from visits to home with tons of lush photos much like this. Makes me want to start a “travel to Styria” savings jar in my kitchen.Thank you for sharing this beautiful place!
Nice photos! My family came from Ptuj and I can´t wait to show this gallery to my mother!
We now live in Argentina since the second world war. I really want to visit Slovenia this year!
Awesome pictures! Thanks for sharing, I love this gallery!
My brother and I just got back from a 2 week trip in Slovenia! We spent most of our time in Ljubljana, but we were able to get to Maribor on a weekend. Gorgeous city! Thanks so much for the reminder photos
How charming! I have never been to the region. I am now double-interested! I will definitely try to include Marburg in my summer travel plans.
Oh wow! These photos present a completely different view of Slovenia than the one that I had always imagined. Thank you so much for sharing them.
Aja Rotovnik
