Krvavec Ski Resort Overview
Krvavec Ski Resort is the second-largest skiing area in Slovenia, located in the Cerklje Na Gorenjskem Municipality in the Kamnik–Savinja Alps, just a half an hour’s drive from the capital Ljubljana. The resort is located 10 km from Ljubljana’s Joze Pucnik Airport (LJU) and it is the nearest ski resort to an international airport in Europe. It has a total of 30 kilometres of ski runs at an elevation between 1,480 to 1,971 metres: 7 kilometres of easy blue difficulty, 15 kilometres of intermediate red difficulty and 8 kilometres of difficult black runs. There are all the required ski equipment rental, ski school and a lot of après-ski activities. Access is via a cable car near the village of Cerklje na Gorenjskem.
Krvavec Ski Resort Review
Krvavec ski resort, located 25 kilometres north of Slovenia’s capital Ljubljana, is one of the most popular skiing areas in the country. It’s the closest ski resort to an airport in Europe – it takes less than half an hour from airport to slopes. The parking is free and well organised, just keep driving up the road towards the gondola station until you see the parking attendants. From there a bus takes you up to the gondola station.
The resort is perfect for families with a nice variation of slopes for every one, whether a beginner or a seasoned snow veteran. There are nice beginner friendly blue runs (7 kilometres) to learn and build confidence with more demanding reds (15 kilometres) an black runs (8 kilometres). Some of the reds seems like they could be blues, especially the main run down from the high point at Mt Zvoh. None of the runs are that long, probably 2 kilometres at most, but the views are simply stunning.
The chairlifts and J-bar lifts are all pretty modern, although there is one slightly retro single chair lifts. The queues aren’t too bad and everyone is pretty friendly, including at the rental place and the cafes and restaurants. There is a great ski school near magic carpet next to 4 man and 6 man chairlift. There are also a few really nice bars on the slopes with splendid views serving all the standard slope fare, including burgers, stews and sausage. Nothing is too expensive, around €8 for a meal or €4 for a beer.
For the price and the convenience, Krvavec is a great ski resort. For 2-3 days of skiing and snowboarding, it offers plenty of choice whether a beginner or a seasoned snow veteran. But if you’re looking for a week of skiing then you’d be better off either going to a bigger resort or exploring other Slovenian resorts, such as Vogel and Krjanska Gora, as part of a trip (you can buy an all area ski pass if you want to try a number of different Slovenian ski resorts).

Krvavec is a medium-sized resort in Europe but for weekend skiing and snowboarding, it offers plenty of choice whether a beginner or a seasoned snow veteran.
Krvavec has enough slopes to keep most people entertained.
The skiing is most enjoyable.
Krvavec resort is great value for money, accessible from Slovenia’s capital Ljubljana and we would highly recommend it for all people.
There is a great ski school for all levels and the instructors are very good.
The slopes are quite intermediate and beginner friendly.
The runs are well marked and the lift operators were friendly.
The difficulty/color of the slopes are clearly labeled at the top of the slope.
Krvavec is an excellent opportunity for a day of skiing with yummy traditional lunch available in the restaurant.
Krvavec is perfect for a short break, lift passes and ski hire are much cheaper than in the rest of Europe.
The ski slopes are well prepared. There are many choices for children as well.
Krvavec offers 20 ski runs, a ski school, a ski equipment hire service, a restaurant, a snow park, a beginners’ practice field, a children’s carpet lift and ski carousel, a racing field, a ski piste equipped with an electronic time measuring device, an ungroomed ski piste, night tobogganing, and snowbiking.
The chair lifts are easy to negotiate and the lift staff are very helpful.
The chairlifts are first class and get one to the top in the shortest time possible with no or very little waiting.
The chairlifts are fairly new and comfortable.

Skiing is enjoyable with good number of runs.
For a short break Krvavec is brilliant 2-3 days of skiing.

Krvavec Snow Park welcomes all who find a day of skiing on ski runs lacking in challenge.
Snow Park Krvavec is great for snowboarders and skiers interested in doing tricks on various structures and jumps.
The snow park is especially attractive for snowboarders.
Even non skiers can enjoy the view.
Krvavec is the first ski resort in Slovenia with a patrolled and marked freeride run.
The freeride area is really nice.

In all it has 22 kilometres of ski slopes and a snowboard park. To get to it you have to take the cable car. There is plenty of snow due to its altitude, and a longer-than-average season which runs from mid-November to the beginning of May. It's within the Triglav national park, one of the oldest national parks in Europe, so it's protected from development and artificial snow-making is not permitted. Slovenia's capital Ljubljana is about an hour away. |

The resort has a total of 30 kilometres of ski slopes for all levels, from complete beginners to advanced skiers and snowboarders. It's known for having the longest ski season in Slovenia, which can last from late November until early May. |
